If you’re enjoying a winter wonderland view from inside a warm home, be sure to say thank you to your modern heating system. Today, the majority of Americans use gas or electricity to keep their houses toasty, but in decades past, you might have been paying for a pile of coal to keep you comfortable through the winter. So just how far have we come in home heating?
